The Session is the governing board of elders for Woodbury Presbyterian Church.

The Presbyterian Church requires that a Session consist of a Moderator, who must be an ordained pastor, a Clerk and a number of elders whose number and membership are prescribed in the Book of Order referenced above.

At Woodbury, the roles for these members is as follows:

The Moderator, who is a Teaching Elder, chairs the meeting and ensures that it proceeds according to the Book of Order. Pastor Rod is our Moderator.

The Clerk keeps notes for the meeting and provides reports and correspondence to and from the Session.  The Clerk does not need to be an active Ruling Elder.  We have chosen to elect a Ruling Elder to this position.

Woodbury has 12 Ruling Elders to superintend our 6 ministry areas:  Adore, Care, Teaching, Involve, Offer New Life and Stewardship, two elders per ministry.
