This description is for two positions, one for Sundays 8:30 - 10:30 am and the other for Sundays 10:30 - 12:30

 

Nursery Attendant Job Description

Position: Nursery Attendant

Status: Part time 2 hours per week

Reports to: DCE (Director of Christian Education)

Purpose: To love, nurture and care for children (infant – 4 year olds) during Sunday Worship Service from 8:30 – 10:30am.

Qualifications

B.A. in Education or related field (preferred).

3 – 5 years experience in caring for infants and toddlers.

A Christian who regularly attends church (not necessarily at WPC).

 

Essential Assets

Love of children.

Ability to multi-task.

Strong communication skills.

Weekend and evening availability strongly preferred.

 

Tasks

To care and nurture the children during Sunday service.

Greet parents and families on entering the nursery.

Assign pager to adult so they can be contacted while in church.

Have new parents or visiting parents fill out registration.

Keep all registrations up to date.

Keep nursery stocked with materials. (DCE to purchase any products needed).

Keep nursery clean including but not limited to: diaper disposal, changing table, sleep area, refrigerator and trash.

Maintain and update visuals on the walls.

Keep toy area clean and safe.

Create arts and crafts, stories and/or songs for children’s growth.

 

Professional and Personal Growth

Adequate vacation is taken periodically as approved by the DCE and Teach Team.

Appropriate training opportunities are periodically attended.

A Biblical pattern for interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution is maintained in work relationships.

A growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ is evident.

Complete the Dunamis 1 Course, “Gateways to Empowered Ministry” as soon as possible and complete other Dunamis courses as appropriate.

 

Physical Demand

Moderate standing and walking.

Ability to lift small children.

May be required to climb to heights of four feet.
