Prayer
Conversation with God

"So when you pray, you should pray like this:
    'Our Father in heaven,
may your name always be kept holy.
    May your kingdom come
and what you want be done,
here on earth as it is in heaven."
Matthew 6:9-10

God's Love in Action
Prayer
What is Prayer
  - Prayer is communication with God for the purpose of worship, for petition, for intercession on another's behalf, and for thanksgiving.
  - Prayer recognizes the sovereignty of God, and helps establish a right relationship between the person praying and God.
  -

Forms of Prayer
  - Public vs Individual prayer.  We may pray to God as part of an assembly, or in private.  Even silent prayers are heard by our Lord.

  - Intercessory prayer.  Even as part of the Lord's prayer, he showed us by example to pray for others' needs and for God's will to be made manifest.

  - Worship and meditation.  The Psalms are full of prayers of worship and thoughts of meditation.

  - God's sovereignty.  God as our Father does know what is best.  He does hear and respond to our prayers, but does not always answer in the way we may desire.  But in the medium of prayer, He and we meet and hearts and lives are changed as a result.

How may I pray with this church?
  - in worship.  Each worship we have a time where various needs may be spoken out load, or just between you and God.
  - in personal intercession.  At personal request, we share with the church during worship or through a weekly email personal needs and praises.
  - in the Sunday evening prayer service.  Members of the church gather together at this time to pray for the congregation.  Once a month this time is dedicated to prayers for healing and wholeness.
