At the end of Jesus’ ministry on earth, he gave to his disciples the mission now known as the Great Commission:
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age." (Matthew 28:16-20)
These were Jesus’ final instructions to his
disciples before he ascended to heaven. These remain our
instructions today. Everything that the Church does in Jesus'
name or authority is to be done to accomplish what he commissioned us
to do: to make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them to
obey everything Jesus commanded.
The Offer New Life team leads that part of the mission of Woodbury
Presbyterian Church to help each member of the church to fulfill the
Great Commission as Jesus commanded us by:
* Teaching believers how to effectively share the good news of God's love shown through Jesus
* Teaching those
who seek fellowship with God what it means to be a disciple, and
leading seekers into a life of discipleship under the Lordship of Jesus
* Encouraging
missions activities both foreign and domestic. This includes
encouraging personal and church-wide support of missionaries, and
sponsoring our own missions trips.
* Leading and encouraging a loving welcome to guests at worship and other church events.
* Working with the Teach team in discipleship training
* Sponsoring other church activities designed to promote outreach, such as advertising, welcome pamphlets and special events.
Prayer Ministry
The Offer team sponsors a prayer ministry team that is available at
each church function to pray with those needing prayer, and teaching
those needing to know more about the good news of Jesus' love and his
work to reconcile man to God. If you want to know more about this
team please contact Bobby Fleetwood or Bob Buford (407-461-3561)
